Early morning at the clinic |
Kathy and I have been working in Haiti for over 22 years part-time and now enter our 4th month of full-time work here. The learning curve is still pretty steep, and the pace at which things are happening could win a NASCAR race. Looking back at what has been accomplished, with the help of so many people, is overwhelming to see what God has done! If we examine what has been executed , even since January, the Lopital L'eglise de Dieu Reformee has been blessed beyond belief!
Since only the beginning of 2015, the clinic has:
- started using digital x-rays—enabling the facility to send images electronically and to share with other practitioners all over the world.
- installed doors to decrease dust and create two new “zones” in our surgery area (Haitian government requirement).
- created a new storage area in our surgery suites (Haitian government requirement).
- purchased and installed fire extinguishers and smoke detectors (Haitian government requirement).
- completed a computer inventory system—which required counting every pill and durable medical supply in the hospital, cataloging it, and training a new employee to maintain it.
- purchased a new software system to track our patients and to also track the epidemiology (patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations) of specific disease entities.
- installed a 2-400 gallon tank, potable water system—providing clean, potable water for our hospital (Haitian government requirement).
- hosted multiple surgery teams from the U.S. that have completed nearly 150 surgeries at the facility.
- treated over 5,000 patients at our outpatient clinic by our wonderful, Haitian staff of medical professionals.
AND ALL OF THIS SINCE JANUARY!!! GOD IS AMAZING!!! The list goes on, but you must also be aware that each one of the patients and each improvement has been prayed over during this time. God alone knows the spiritual impact this has had over the last few months and will continue to have years from now.
We ask for your continued prayers as God works all things together for good with the mission. We also ask that you consider praying for and attending our first-ever gala in Anderson, Indiana on April 18th to celebrate God’s work in St. Ard, Haiti and to further fund what lies ahead.

TO GOD BE ANY AND ALL OF THE GLORY!!
